Dog Treats – Liver Recipe

Dog treats are expensive!!!!!!

A cheap treat for dogs is OX LIVER.

You can purchase an ox liver for about £5 – £8 (most butchers will cut it into about 1lb pieces) < 10 to 12 pieces in all>

BEWARE = Before purchasing an ox liver try your dog on a small piece of liver first. Some dog react badly to liver it can cause anything from slight stomach upset to bad diarrhoea.

If your dog is O.K. then try this recipe:-

Preparation
Take two or three pieces of liver (defrost if frozen) and place them in a baking dish lined with tin foil. Then cover with tin foil.
(This is to prevent the “smell” of the cooking – also to assist in the rest period)

Cooking
45 minutes at 180 degrees in fan assisted oven
60 minutes at 180 degrees in normal oven
Then allow to rest in the oven for 15 minutes
Remove from oven and allow to cool still in foil (The garden is best to stop the smell in the house)

Serving
Once cool wash to clean. Cut into small treat size chunks. Place some in the fridge for use in the next week. Freeze the rest.
